Taani (Anushka Sharma) a pretty and vivacious girl, ends up married to Surinder Sahni (Shah Rukh Khan), a very staid and boring man. While he is completely smitten by her, she has no feelings for him.
She wants to participate in a dance competition, and he gives her a nod. Wanting to impress her, he goes to his friend, Bobby, (Vinay Pathak) to give him a makeover. He shaves off his moustache, goes from formal clothes to funky, gets a different hairdo, et al. He introduces himself as Raj, and Taani doesn't recognize him as her husband. She likes Raj's company, has fun with him, and almost forgets that she is a married woman.
